30-35 million Christmas trees are sold each year in the U.S. A renewable resource, 98% of all Christmas trees are grown on Christmas tree farms, who plant 2-3 seedlings for every one tree harvested.
Fortunately, 93% of them are recycled in community recycling programs, gardens and backyards, as they would surely fill our landfills otherwise.
