Zappos is one of the most successful online sellers of shoes, but what they really shine in is service. So it is no surprise that they sell more than shoes. Clothing, bags and other accessories are now available.

But my favorite category is the eco-friendly category. There are shoes made from recycled rubber and shipped in recycled packaging, bamboo shirts, organic cotton dresses, recycled plastic backpacks, even "vegetarian" non-leather, animal-friendly shoes. Available, of course, at zappos.com.

Avoid being greenwashed!

Spending green going green? Confused about what 'green' means? You are not alone! Polls show that confusion is one of the top reasons why shoppers don't buy more eco-friendly products. To avoid being 'greenwashed', Greenzer.com and GreenYour.com have developed standards to help us wade through the raw compost pile of products and find the fertile ground of green. Both websites help find and compare products that are green certified, use materials or ingredients that are ecologically responsible in nature, or recommend merchants who are who offering products that reduce our carbon footprint (like reusable bottles and low-flow fixtures).
